Since 2003, the Endswell Foundation has made grants for a total of about $8.7 Million. Of that, 99 percent went to Tides Canada as shown below in excerpts from U.S. tax returns.
Endswell has granted funds to Tides Canada both directly and indirectly, through the Salal Foundation and through the Nextwave Foundation. Between 2002 and 2008, Endswell granted a total of $13,286 to Salal and Nextwave. Of that, $7,000 was re-granted to Tides Canada Foundation. For example, in 2004 the Salal Foundation had total revenues of $5,337 of which $5,000 was granted to Tides Canada, as shown below.
Between 2001 and 2008, the directors of the Salal Foundation were the same: James Morrisey, Joel Solomon and Martha Burton. James Morrisey is the treasurer of Tides Canada Foundation, Tides Canada Initiatives Society and the Endswell Foundation. Joel Solomon is also listed as the treasurer of the Endswell Foundation and the vice-chair of Tides Canada Foundation. Martha Burton is the sr. vice-president of Endswell and the treasurer of Vision Vancouver, the political party of Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson.
From 2001 to 2007, the directors of the Nextwave Foundation were also the same: Joel Solomon, James Morrisey and Martha Burton.
